Land to the south of Heather Close, West Ashling is a flagship residential development for our client, Newship Group, consisting of 17 low-carbon homes located in the South Downs National Park (SDNP).

The houses are constructed off site by Rollalong, a market leader in the delivery of modular buildings, based in Dorset. As part of a MMC strategy the dwelling modules are constructed at Rollalong’s factory, utilising a light gauge steel volumetric system. With all dwellings being modular construction, this results in an improvement on Part L achieving a 39% reduction in CO2 emissions.

The appearance of the development is that of simple, contemporary articulation using high quality materials resulting in bespoke finishes that are sympathetic to the location and responds to the high aspirations of the SDNP planning authority for high-quality design. The approved scheme is promoted by SDNP on their website as a good example of how contemporary design can work within the National Park.

Due for completion later in 2023 the development will provide eight market dwelling houses and nine affordable tenure houses and apartments as a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership.
