Surrey Road consists of 8 high quality town houses located on a highly constrained site in the city centre of Bournemouth. The site is situated on a steep embankment between two roadways, with a high number of existing trees covered by Tree Protection Orders.
As part of our in-house site analysis, we conducted an in-depth review of the existing site levels to inform the layout of the homes and the client’s project brief. The resulting layout features a series of detached, semi-detached and terraced town houses of 2- and 3-storeys that sit within the sloping land, with the internal arrangements responding to site levels for access.
The homes feature a combination of facing brick to lower floors and timber cladding to upper floors, creating a modern, sustainable design that sits well within the treeline of the site.
Following the successful outcome of the planning application, PDP have been appointed to develop the technical design for Surrey Road, and look forward to working with contractor Seascape on the construction phase of this project.
