Our client Mipa Paints Ltd required a purpose built storage warehouse, packaging, training school and office facility for their UK operations headquarters. As a business they were inexperienced in delivering a construction project so PDP Architecture LLP assisted their project manager in drawing up a design brief to meet their requirements.
The client required a development which was functional to their needs, but also had a corporate face as their UK headquarters. The solution was a large warehouse with mutli-span roof hidden behind a parapet so as to appear as a large box like structure. The focal point of the development is glazed entrance tower which houses the stairs to the 1st floor offices. The offices face north to reduce solar glare.
PDP has worked closely with other members of the design team including the Structural Engineer and M&E consultants to ensure all the elements of the design are co-ordinated within the build. We also assisted the BREEAM assessor to achieve the target of ‘BREEAM Very Good’ for the scheme. The contract period is expected to be 8 months with completion in early 2017.
