PDP Architecture llp submitted an outline planning application in June 2018. This outline planning application proposes 3nr 2-bed dwelling houses & 1nr 1-bed dwelling facing Hampshire Street on land which is part of the rear garden of the public house. The garden is not well used by the pub and does not form a core facility to the way the pub operates.

Like so many pubs, The Florist has struggled to remain a viable public house for a number of years and has closed on a number of occasions in the last 5-6 years. Its owner, the applicant, is keen to give the public house the best chance of survival and therefore has looked to maximise the potential of the site whilst retaining the public house as a ‘local pub’ business.

The three main dwelling houses are of contemporary in design and include off street parking in recessed undercroft garage areas. The main living space in on the 1st floor where an open plan lounge and kitchen/ diner also has access to an external terraced balcony space. The 2nd floor houses two bedrooms and the bathroom.
