PDP Architecture won a competitive commissioning process to design a 40-apartment over 55’s sheltered housing scheme in Stow Crescent, Fareham. The proposal is to replace existing 1960’s bed-sit style sheltered accommodation which no longer meets modern living standards with a scheme which not only has a mix of 1 and 2-bed apartments but also has additional facilities such as communal lounges, laundry and assisted bathrooms, with onsite care staff accommodation.

Features such as a glazed entrance atrium and double height communal lounge give this scheme a light contemporary feel, with each apartment having its own kitchen, wet room style shower room and access to spacious balconies. The scheme is set within fully landscaped gardens and will prove to be a local landmark building.
