The White house is a residential care home specialising in the care of varying forms of dementia. The proposal involved increasing the number of bed spaces to 41 adding 24 new single bedrooms all with en-suite facilities and in accordance with new government standards.
There is a high demand for elderly care in hampshire and particularly for this type of specialist care. Following extensive consultation with the Local Authority Planning Permission was granted for the scheme which was outside the established Development Plan.
The new wing is single story with the communal spaces and bedrooms arranged around a courtyard. This allows the residents to wander freely through the building and courtyard while maintaining a safe and secure environment.
